Terms of Service
What you agree to when you use SecretPaste, and what we owe you.
Version 2026-01-01
1. Acceptance and eligibility
By using SecretPaste you accept these terms. You must be 18, or the age of majority where you live. The service is not directed at children.
2. What the service is
Ephemeral encrypted sharing. Content encrypted in your browser is unreadable to us: we hold ciphertext and metadata, never the key. We do not guarantee delivery, and content is destroyed according to the sender's settings and our retention rules.
3. Accounts and credentials
You are responsible for your account, your API keys and anything done with them. Tell us promptly if you think a credential has been lost.
4. Acceptable use
No malware, phishing, child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, harassment, infringement, spam, or anything illegal where you or the recipient are. No circumventing limits, and no automated abuse.
5. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate an account, and remove ciphertext without notice, when these terms are broken. We cooperate with law enforcement as described in our Law Enforcement Guidelines - which is bounded by what we actually hold.
6. Paid plans
Billing is monthly or annual. Refunds within fourteen days, no questions. Seat changes prorate. On a failed payment we keep the plan for a grace period and then move the account to Free; nothing is deleted by that move.
7. Intellectual property
Our marks are ours. Your content stays yours; the licence you give us is the narrow one needed to operate the service, and for end-to-end secrets it covers ciphertext we cannot read.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided as is. Our liability is capped at the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Notice and takedown
Copyright complaints go to our designated agent, described on the DMCA page.
10. Governing law and changes
Texas law governs. We give notice before a material change to these terms, and record which version you accepted.
