How to share an SSH key
A private key is the one thing worth being careful with. This is the careful way.
- 1Drop the private key file in, and add a passphrase.
- 2Set one view and an hour, unless you know the recipient is waiting.
- 3Tell them the passphrase by voice, not in the same message as the link.
If the key is for a server you control, generating a fresh one for the recipient is safer than sharing yours.
